Causes of whiplash neck injury - What are the causes of whiplash?

Whiplash injury can be caused by any number of things, but the most common cause of whiplash is minor car accidents.

This would be a situation whereby a minor collision would occur, and as a result the driver (or passengers or ALL) would sustain a neck injury as a result of the jolting motion on the neck, commonly refered to as "whiplash".

There are also a number of other common causes of this injury these include

• Sports such as rugby i.e during a harsh tackle the neck can sharply go backwards in whiplike motion, also common in boxing when a boxer is punched his head may jolt backwards and cause this particular form of necksprain.
• When someone takes a fall or loses their footing it is common that they can sprain their neck which is a minor form of whiplash injury.
• Also it is common that individuals who enjoy attending theme parks enjoying rollercoaster rides may incurr this common injury as a result of rushing forward at relatively high speeds which would make their neck whip backwards.
